A Chicago police officer who said hard-core pornography was left in her mailbox every day for six months after she became the first and only woman on an undercover gang unit was awarded $150,000 in damages in her harassment lawsuit.
“I told the jury exactly what happened, and the Chicago Police Department, including one commander, one captain, two lieutenants and seven sergeants, all tried to say I wasn’t telling the truth, and the jury saw through it,” Ann McDermott said outside court.
