Mobile software companies Visto Corp. and Seven Networks Inc. have settled their patent disputes, the companies announced Tuesday, ending three years of high-profile court battles -- including an appeal of a multimillion-dollar jury verdict. Much of the litigation between the companies concerned five Visto patents dealing with synchronization of e-mail, contacts and other corporate data with mobile phones.

Mobile software companies Visto Corp. and Seven Networks Inc. have settled their patent disputes, the companies announced Tuesday, ending three years of high-profile court battles — including an appeal of a multimillion-dollar jury verdict.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but Seven has agreed to license some of Visto’s patents, as well as to pay Visto a cash sum, said Visto General Counsel Timothy Robbins.
