Two-and-a-half years after electronic filing became mandatory in New Jersey's federal courts, court officials say lawyers are sending in about 250 paper documents each week that should have been filed online. But that number is diminishing, thanks in part to training offered by the district court. Not all lawyers are fans of e-filing, though, with some in smaller firms noting that the process requires more expensive equipment and creates problems, such as the need to scan all documents.
