After his lawyers argued that he didn’t know it was illegal to backdate stock options, Gregory Reyes — the former Brocade Communications CEO — got hit with an unfortunate piece of testimony in his trial Wednesday.

“Do you recall, in your own mind, a particularly memorable conversation with Greg Reyes when you were alone in his office,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam Reeves asked witness June Weaver, a former HR administrator at Brocade.
