Judge John Dietz of Austin, Texas’ 250th District Court signed an order on April 26 that could prevent Dallas criminal defense solo Catherine Shelton from practicing law for three years.

Suspension in Commission for Lawyer Discipline v. Catherine Shelton gives Shelton 30 days from the date Dietz issued the order to notify her current clients in writing of the suspension and return their files and any unearned fees. The order also requires that Shelton immediately surrender her Texas law license to the State Bar of Texas, Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel.
