For the second time in 17 months, Atlanta attorney Peter A. Law has won a $9 million verdict for a client suing an apartment complex where she said she was raped.

A jury in LaFayette, Ala., on May 10 gave the award to a woman who claimed owners of her apartment complex were negligent in hiring an ex-convict who she said let himself into her unit, held her prisoner for four hours and raped her.
