For the second time this year, attorneys for a consumer group have killed a proposed multimillion dollar coupon settlement with Mercury Insurance.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Victoria Chaney on May 15 rejected a tentative agreement between plaintiff Sam Donabedian and Mercury to settle a class action complaint that the insurance giant illegally overcharged about 1 million customers who previously had no car insurance or let their policies lapse.
