On a recent flight to Denver, I was reading Hemispheres, United Airlines’ in-flight magazine, and found an article entitled “The New Networking.”

The article promoted a “follow your bliss” business networking approach. It also reinforced a common but misleading piece of business development advice: “Get involved in a community activity that you love and you’ll develop business.”
