More than 120 judges listened with heavy hearts at a Manhattan Law ceremony Tuesday to another round of impassioned pleas to raise their salaries.
Several speakers at the program in the rotunda of the courthouse at 60 Centre Street alluded to April 30′s disappointing news that Democratic state senators had backed out of a commitment that would have given a pay raise bill a vetoproof majority, though former Corporation Counsel Victor A. Kovner expressed optimism that a pay raise bill will be enacted by the end of the month.
