One of Atlanta's oldest law firms, Carter & Ansley, has joined the North Carolina firm Smith Moore. The combination increases Smith Moore's Atlanta office from 10 to 23 lawyers. Carter & Ansley is known for representing life, health and disability insurers, and Smith Moore's Atlanta office focuses on health law and litigation. Carter & Ansley managing partner H. Sanders Carter Jr. said the merger is "a very good fit in terms of the firm's culture and style and the values that we have."

One of Atlanta’s oldest law firms, Carter & Ansley, has joined the North Carolina firm Smith Moore, which has had a local office for nine years.
The combination, effective Tuesday, more than doubles Smith Moore’s Atlanta office, from 10 to 23 lawyers. The firm is based in Greensboro, N.C., with offices in Wilmington, Raleigh and Charlotte.
