Jurors deliberated for more than four hours Wednesday in an Arkansas federal court in a case filed by a woman who claims Wyeth Pharmaceuticals' hormone drug Prempro caused her breast cancer. "This is a company that is guided by their allegiance to the bottom line and not the safety of women," plaintiffs lawyer Kathleen Peterson said. Defense lawyer Lyn Pruitt maintained the drug is safe: "Not one witness has come into this courtroom and said Wyeth should withdraw this product from the market."

Attorneys for a Little Rock, Ark., woman who sued Wyeth Pharmaceuticals over its hormone-replacement drugs said their client had no idea the drugs could cause breast cancer.
Neither Helene Rush nor the doctors who prescribed the Premarin and Prempro drugs knew of the breast cancer risks, Rush’s attorneys said in closing arguments Wednesday.
