A $15 million judgment against Joel Steinberg, who was convicted of beating to death 6-year-old Lisa Steinberg, has been upheld by the Appellate Division, 1st Department.

The decision marks yet another turning point in the 18-year-old lawsuit filed by Lisa’s birth mother, Michele Launders, against Steinberg, his former girlfriend Hedda Nussbaum and several New York city agencies.
