This week my mailbox was overflowing with the usual holiday greetings — cards from vendors wishing me “peace” and reminding me to call them if I need translation services; oh-so-personal mass mailings from my law school pals sending me their Big Firms’ “Best Wishes for a Joyful Holiday Season”; glossy, holiday-themed, full-color photo-cards of my college buddies’ three kids sitting on a sleigh in fake snow; and, of course, a handful of “Holiday Update” letters from random relatives, old friends and totally tangential acquaintances.
