A worn rug in Nassau County has put New York on the carpet for damages to a woman who was floored at the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Garden City.

Court of Claims Judge Frank P. Milano expressed not only dismay with the condition of the tattered rug on which Mary Cacciatore stumbled, but disgust at its unseemly and apparently dangerous state.
