William F. Sorin, the ex-general counsel of Comverse Technology, said he “failed as a lawyer” as he pleaded guilty Thursday to one felony count of conspiracy to commit securities, mail and wire fraud.
On Thursday, Sorin became the first attorney to admit to criminal wrongdoing in connection with the burgeoning stock option backdating scandal.
