Plaintiffs lawyers have largely agreed that attorneys Mark Lanier and Chris Seeger will lead the team that will litigate several Vioxx cases simultaneously in a trial slated to begin in January in New Jersey.

On Tuesday, plaintiffs lawyers gathered in New York City to select 10 Vioxx cases that are due to be submitted to a New Jersey judge by Friday for consideration in the upcoming trial. Although no final selection was made, Lanier said the lawyers were “80 percent there” and discussions were continuing. He also said some of the details about him and Seeger leading the team, such as fees, were still being negotiated.
