After flirtations that started last year, Appleby Spurling Hunter and Bailhache Labesse have agreed to join forces in a merger.

The combined firm will be called Appleby Hunter Bailhache and will merge operations Sept. 1, according to the firms. Bermuda-based Appleby is a provider of offshore legal services with offices in the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong and London.
