House Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., on Wednesday launched an antitrust task force that will examine consolidation and innovation in the telecommunications industry.

“While the technological dynamics of the telecom industry have shifted, there has been no change in the need for continuing oversight to ensure that market power is utilized in a nondiscriminatory manner that does not restrain the vibrant market competition,” he said in a House Judiciary Committee meeting.
