Jonathan Katz, the secretary of the Securities and Exchange Commission for 23 years who is retiring next month, will be replaced by SEC attorney Nancy Morris, the agency announced Wednesday. As secretary, Morris will be the official responsible for coordinating the work of the five SEC commissioners. Morris has been working in the SEC's investment management division since May 2004 after more than a decade working in the private sector.
