With the departure of partner Thomas G. Schultz to Tew Cardenas, there's only one name left on his former law firm's door. At its height, Ferrell Schultz Carter Zumpano & Fertel was one of the fastest-growing law firms in Florida. But the firm hit a rough patch in 2003 when more than a dozen lawyers, including managing partner Joseph I. Zumpano, departed. Ferrell is down to 25 lawyers, from a peak of 67 in 2003. But Milton Ferrell said his firm is still robust and winning big cases despite the downsizing.
