Democrats consider her ideologies extreme, but Priscilla Owen and her brand of conservatism would not be out of place on the federal appeals court in New Orleans.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is considered one of the more conservative appeals courts in the country, legal experts said Tuesday. Recently, the court has been criticized by the Supreme Court on death penalty and other rulings, which the court found had ignored important points of law.
