The former chief of human resources at America Online pleaded guilty to fraud Thursday for a scheme in which he allowed himself to profit from a sham consulting contract. Court records indicate that the former AOL executive, Gregory S. Horton, also defrauded two past employers -- AutoNation and Qwest Communications -- of more than $2 million in similar schemes. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 and could be required to pay restitution.
