Illinois' high court has thrown out two suits accusing gunmakers of knowingly letting weapons fall into criminals' hands, ruling that manufacturers cannot legally be blamed for street violence. The lawsuits -- similar to others around the country -- claimed the defendants created a public nuisance by pouring guns into the region. Both rulings were unanimous, but five of the seven justices were so disturbed by the case's allegations that they wrote a separate opinion urging tougher gun regulations.
