A drunken passenger who suffered a concussion after falling from a staircase while on a Royal Caribbean ship has asked a Florida appeals court to reinstate his personal injury suit against the cruise line. A circuit judge had dismissed the suit, citing the state Dram Shop Act, which gives broad immunity for selling alcohol to adults. The man's attorney argued that the lower court applied the wrong law and asked the appeals court to reconsider based on federal maritime law.
