A Missouri jury has ordered two manufacturers to pay $20 million to a former worker suffering from damaged lungs. Eric Peoples is one of 30 workers who contend the manufacturers knew their butter flavoring was hazardous but failed to warn them of the dangers or provide adequate safety instructions. A national health agency has linked exposure to the vapors to lung disease in popcorn factory workers in Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska.
