Hollywood has fired a new salvo in the war against digital piracy. Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox filed a complaint in a New York federal court against four companies that distribute software capable of copying DVDs. This action, brought under the controversial DMCA, is the first attempt to pursue distributors of software designed to circumvent the content scramble system copy-protection system built into every DVD.
