Forty-five law firms from Dusseldorf to Omaha now find themselves targets of a major discovery effort by Neal Batson, the court-appointed examiner investigating Enron’s fall. Batson has asked the judge overseeing Enron’s bankruptcy for authority to demand from these firms detailed information about their dealings with Enron or dozens of “special purpose entities” spawned by company insiders.
