Quorum has released a new version of RedDoc II that will allow native file review capability. RedDoc II is an Internet-based litigation document management system that gives users the ability to store, search and review electronically produced discovery documents in their native formats. In addition to storing documents in standard image file formats such as TIFF, PDF or full text, the litigation team will be able to retrieve and review electronic documents in their original electronic form, the company says. Users can operate the tools and features of the native application, like Microsoft Corp. Excel, Word or PowerPoint, in order to analyze the document. Kofax Image Products Inc. has introduced Ricochet Coversheet, a document capture utility for Ascent Capture. It helps remote offices capture documents using a Web browser and their existing office copiers or multifunction peripherals. Users can scan, pre-index and initiate production workflow for documents. The utility does not require additional scanners, capture software or specially trained operators. Solicitec Ltd. introduces Visualdocs, document assembly software that retains a copy of the document produced, but also retains the context of the document (i.e. the responses to the questions asked during compilation). Users can return to the document for reference, reprinting and outright recompilation. Simple case management can also be built around the document, like sending e-mails to authors. DynamicVOICE now offers a suite of digital dictation and transcription services, customized for the legal market. The systems debuted at LegalTech New York, (Feb. 4-6 at the N.Y. Hilton). The systems work with existing applications, and support multiple file formats, reports the Kansas company. Users can dictate anywhere, and only designated authors can access files.
