One of the nation's largest tobacco companies lost an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court Friday, apparently sealing victory for a Florida man -- the first to collect money for winning a health claim against the tobacco industry. Ex-smoker Grady Carter collected nearly $1.1 million from tobacco giant Brown & Williamson in March. The Supreme Court, without comment, declined to hear Brown & Williamson's appeal.
