One of the best sites for public interest jobs at all levels of experience is a subpage of the Web site of the Project for the Future of Equal Justice, www.equaljustice.org. The D.C.-based project is a joint venture of the National Legal Aid and Defender Association and the Center for Law and Social Policy and functions as a sort of think tank for people involved in providing civil legal services to indigent Americans. The job bank, which can be searched in chronological order or by state, is broad and deep. The pay for these positions is low by law firm (or most any) standards, but the work is important and rewarding.
