E.I. DuPont De Nemours & Co. filed an action in U.S. District Court in Delaware against makers of automotive products including Pennzoil-Quaker State Co. and Blue Coral Slick 50 Ltd. DuPont claims the defendants used the Wilmington-based chemical giant's trademarked "Teflon" name in unauthorized ways. DuPont further alleges that the defendants failed to pay royalties for the Teflon name, and used it in a manner that exceeded the scope of a contract between the companies.
