The Court of Appeals yesterday upheld the constitutionality of an amended statute that permits judges to replace jurors who have been absent for more than two hours.
Its decision means that a judge can discharge a juror, even one who is temporarily unavailable because of illness or personal emergency, if the juror cannot return to court within 120 minutes.
