At Harvard Law, Ellen Rapoport submitted a screenplay in lieu of her third-year thesis and got an A. After graduation in 1998, Ellen moved on to Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Despite the $118,000-a-year salary and the view of Central Park from her office, she began to draft another screenplay about -- you guessed it -- a frazzled female attorney. When Ellen got word that she had sold the rights to Hollywood, the first call she placed was to the Paul Weiss personnel department. She quit.
