The News Journal of Wilmington, Del., took a double hit May 3 from the Delaware Supreme Court in a libel case, which was decided 4-1 in favor of a Wilmington gynecologist who filed suit eight years ago in a legal odyssey that has attracted national media attention.

In the first blow, the court affirmed a Superior Court jury verdict finding that the gynecologist, Margo Kanaga, was wronged by a newspaper story conveying the impression she had recommended surgery for financial gain.
