Fed up with what he perceives to be “continued abuse” of the legal system, Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Philip Bloom has ordered two local lawyers to pay $7,500 in fines and more than $27,000 in legal fees to opposing counsel.

In his April 4 order, Bloom says Michael W. Baker and Stephen W. Bazinsky — one-time partners in the law firm Walton Lantaff Schroeder & Carson — along with an associate engaged in a “strategy of concealment of known witnesses and discovery delay.”
