Most Internet service provider vendors (be they ISPs, hosting services vendors or applications services providers) will require their customers to represent and warrant that they will not transmit any content that is obscene or indecent. Long-standing jurisdictional inconsistencies over what is considered “obscene or indecent” make some customers reluctant to agree to such a warranty.

When representing a vendor in such situations, the following clause provides an alternative to a “no obscene or indecent content” representation:
