Regardless of who is at fault in a med-mal or injured worker case, much of legal photographer Robert Walden's work reveals people whose bodies have endured debilitating trauma. And though the images evoke sympathy for the subjects' injuries, the photographs also depict a kind of beautiful horror. "I approach every photograph as if it's a piece of art that I'm trying to make," said Walden.
