NEW HIRES Boston’s Bingham Dana has announced two new hires at its offices in Washington, D.C. and London. Nancy Persechino, 46, has joined the Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the project development and finance group. She was previously a partner with D.C.’s Baker Botts. She received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1980. James Roome, 41, has joined the firm’s London office as a partner in the global financial restructuring practice. He was previously a partner at New York’s Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in their London office. He received his L.L.B from Southampton University in 1981. Norbert Seifert, 44, has joined the Los Angeles office of Chicago’s Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal as a partner in the transactional practice. He was previously the senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Torrance’s Imperial Credit Commercial Mortgage Investment Corp. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1980. Garden City, N.Y.’s L’Abbate, Balkan, Colavita & Contini has hired Noah Nunberg, 50, as of counsel to the firm. He practices commercial and real estate litigation and was previously a partner with New York’s Dreyer & Taub. He received his J.D. from New York Law School in 1977. Two former Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue attorneys in Washington have joined Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld in the firm’s labor and employment practice in D.C. Former Jones, Day partner Lawrence Lamade, 53, joins Akin, Gump as a partner and will advise employers on ERISA matters and pension and welfare benefit plans. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1975. Joining as senior counsel is Charles Stewart,58. A former of counsel at Jones, Day, he focuses on labor and tax issues under ERISA and handles employee benefit matters in dispositions, and mergers and acquisitions. He Received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 1985. Felicia Vallera, 43, has joined Palo Alto, Calif.’s Tomlinson Zisko Morosoli & Maser as an associate in its licensing and corporate groups. A 1998 graduate of Hastings College of the Law, she was last a transactional associate at Lillick & Charles’ San Francisco headquarters. Francis A. Citera and Ruth Bahe-Jachna have joined the Chicago office of Miami’s Greenberg Traurig as partners. Citera was previously the head of Milwaukee’s Foley & Lardner’s liability practice group in Chicago, as well as a partner in the firm. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1983. Bahe-Jachna was also a partner at Foley & Lardner’s Chicago office. She specializes in litigation, products liability and class actions. She received her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 1989. Robert Rathbun, 46,a former technology of counsel at Venable in Washington, has joined the D.C. office of Cleveland’s Arter & Hadden as a partner in the firm’s intellectual property and technology practice. He received his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1982. M. Peter Adler, 45, has joined Foley & Lardner in the Milwaukee-based firm’s health law practice in Washington as a partner. He was previously a partner at Minneapolis’ Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly’s D.C. office. He focuses on technology and computer law, with an emphasis on e-commerce and information technology matters. He received his J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1983. Dallas’ Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld has announced that former 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge William A. Norris will join the firm as senior counsel in the litigation practice of its Los Angeles office. Judge Norris served as a distinguished member of the 9th Circuit for 17 years. Most recently, he was a partner in the Los Angeles office of San Francisco’s Folger Levin & Kahn. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1954. ELECTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS James C. Hardin III, a partner with Charlotte, N.C.’s Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman, was recently elected to a five-year term as the South Carolina Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Council. He is co-chair of the firm’s trusts and estates department in Rock Hill, S.C. He received his J.D. with honors from Duke University in 1974. Jane M. Meyers, a partner at Garden City, N.Y.’s L’Abbate, Balkan, Colavita & Contini, has been appointed to the Nassau County Advisory Board of Chicago Title Insurance Company. She specializes in commercial, banking and real estate law. Myers, 47, received her J.D. from Hofstra University in 1979. Cheryl Hader, a partner at New York’s Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, has recently had her book, “Estate Planning and Chapter 14: Understanding the Special Valuation Rules,” published. Hader, 36, specializes in estate planning, probate and trust law and charitable giving. She received her J.D. from Harvard University cum laude in 1988.
