As an accountant who worked his way through law school preparing tax returns, Brent Clifton has thought a lot about the relationships between accountants and lawyers. And he believes fee-sharing between the two professions in a multidisciplinary practice is not inherently wrong. For the past year, Clifton has led a Texas State Bar task force that examined the MDP issue, which heated up last year when an ABA committee recommended changing disciplinary rules to allow MDPs.
