Waste Management Inc. has been hit with a shareholders’ securities fraud suit that says it failed to tell investors about serious problems it experienced after the $1.3 billion merger of USA Waste and Waste Management Inc. in 1998.

Attorneys Lawrence G. McMichael, James J. Rodgers and Marianne E. Brown of Dilworth Paxson filed the suit on behalf of the top executives of Eastern Environmental Services, a company that was acquired by Waste Management after the merger for shares of Waste Management stock.
