Browne, who practices with San Francisco’s Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi then impressed a wide-eyed reporter who managed to penetrate the citys’ exclusive FrenchClub: The bow-tied attorney turned the face of his business card blank. But that’s not all Browne has up his sleeve. And even if lawyer sleight-of-hand jokes are just too damn easy — remember Johnnie Cochran’s shrinking glove trick — a surprising number of lawyers in the San Francisco Bay area, like Browne, are known to dabble in the art of illusion. The litigator, who financed much of his college education making $100 for 20-minute magic shows (it was the 1950s), added that it was great preparation for a life in the courtroom.
