New York’s Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom L.L.P. is representing its longtime client Champion International Corp. in its acquisition by Finland’s UPM-Kymmene Corp. UPM has retained New York’s White & Case L.L.P. The value of the stock-for-stock transaction is estimated at about $6 billion; the deal will create the world’s third-largest paper company.
