The Connecticut Civil Liberties Union has fired a warning shot across the bow of the West Hartford Police Department, calling the department’s racial profiling policy “illegal on its face,” and asking the department to withdraw or amend it.

The CCLU said it focused on the West Hartford policy because it was used as a model for other police departments at a training session held last fall by the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities.
