Players with the Arena Football League, an 18-team minor league, have filed an antitrust class action in federal court in Newark, N.J., seeking free agency rights, insurance benefits and an end to fixed salaries.
The suit, Guidry v. Arena Football League, 00-5-35, could delay the start of the league’s 2000 season, for which training camps are scheduled to open on March 19.
