Police report that the poison found in a water cooler at Western NewEngland College School of Law was potassium cyanide. The poison-laced watercaused the hospitalization of one student and made six others ill on Dec.18. Although the type of poison is now known, the identity of the perpetrator remains a mystery, The Hartford Courant reports. Gary B.Barnes, the school’s director of public safety, said the school isinvestigating whether there is a connection between the poisoning and agraffiti problem that has been ongoing since 1997. The police foundswastika-like graffiti scratched into a television set near the poisonedcooler at approximately the same time the poisonings occurred. Since thepoisoning, security has been tightened on campus. All water coolers havebeen removed from school grounds.
