It has been almost two years since we first encountered Deal Proof, a program that analyzes contracts and other structured documents and reports on inaccurate references, similar but not identical phrases, undefined words that seemingly should be defined and other little things that just seem to happen as the drafting and revision process moves from initial concept to final form. When we saw that Corel’s Office 2000 included a cut-down edition of a new Version 1.5 of the product, we decided to take a second look.
Deal Proof deals with files created by current and older versions of WordPerfect (WPWin) and Microsoft Word for Windows (WinWord), and integrates tightly with the chosen word processor. The program loaded about three Megabytes from a CD-ROM to our hard disk.
