Joseph Flom is probably not the guy you would turn to for technical support. The computer on his desk doesn’t get much use. His assistant sorts through his e-mail. At age 75, the patriarch of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom occasionally surfs the Web, but he’s more likely to pick up the phone to find the answer to a question.

“I get frustrated by the amount of time it takes to find something on the Internet,” Flom says.
