Questions about the reliability of an expert witness’s testimony were a key factor in the reversal of a $218 million jury verdict in a Kentucky case involving farmland contaminated by PCBs.

The case is one of several brought against Rockwell International Corp. because of leakage of polychlorinated biphenyls at its Russellville, Ky., aluminum casing plant.
