Ebay.com, the San Jose Calif.-based online auction house, is contemplating an intellectual property suit against AuctionWatch.com, of San Bruno, Calif.

AuctionWatch compiles listings for a specific item from various online auctions and places them at one site. It argues that it has merely been providing a service and that the listings are in the public domain.
