Though Alvarez won't confirm whether the firms have signed on the dotted line for an early January union, a source close to the firms says, "Best I can tell, it appears to be a done deal."

Greenberg’s Miami-based leader, Cesar L. Alvarez, confirmed Thursday that talks with the approximately 25-lawyer Atlanta general practice firm were continuing. He would not comment on reports that say the union will take place in early January.
